Three simple (though not easy) steps to master your mind

Nothing is so interesting and frustrating than our mind.

I am blessed with a stubborn and at the same time flexible mind. Something like a wild horse. You will probably agree with me that our mind can take us to heaven and to hell. Remember you lost your key and your mind didn’t let you stop searching for hours. Only to find out after you surrendered they were in your pocket.

I have gained much knowledge about the mind from my more than 10 years intensive yoga and meditation practice. I have received many moments of pure bliss. And as much moments of pure frustration. Now, everything has cooled down and i start to understand and befriend my mind. Yogic psychology from the Kundalini tradition acknowledge three minds. Negative, positive and neutral. The negative mind protects us and stores all our memories. The positive mind expands us and gives us more experience and seizes opportunities. The neutral mind is wise, intuitive and spontaneous making the right decision at the right time.

Three simple steps will help you master your own mind, and become king over your thoughts and feelings. This will be a decisive moment in your practice.

  1. Cleanse the negative mind
  2. Retrain the positive mind
  3. Awaken the neutral mind

Through a regular practice of yoga and meditation you are able to cleanse the old patterns of negative mind. This can take years, but the effects will be in some weeks. You will feel literally more empty in your mind, a feeling of more space. As if you are cleaning your room.

Through all the yoga and meditation your mind will become more plastic (see the whole science of neuroplasticity). This will be INVALUABLE for the second step, to retrain your positive mind. Although automatically you will become more positive, You can train the positive mind to ask better questions. If something happens to you: you might start to ask questions like what can  I learn from this, how can I use this. You will gain a brighter outlook but most importantly you gain more Energy. (A reason why coaching, a very positive mind activity is so popular in West)

Eventually, the neutral mind awakens. Bringing you an intuition and synchronicity in your life that can be only described as magic. But more importantly the neutral mind is the gateway through love, compassion and joy.

Yoga and meditation is and will be the royal road to cleanse, retrain, and awaken your multi-leveled mind. This has been known through all the ages and now neuroscience is confirming it.

You are not here to serve your mind, your mind is here to serve you and your life, and your evolution.

First of all I would like to say superb blog! I had a quick question that I'd like to ask if you don't mind. I was interested to find out how you center yourself and clear your head prior to writing. I've had trouble clearing my thoughts in getting my thoughts out there. I truly do enjoy writing but it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes are usually wasted simply just trying to figure out how to begin. Any recommendations or hints? Thank you!|
